Objectives
The objectives of this training is to develop regional capacity in addressing Ballast Water Management (BWM) issues; to assist countries in implementing BWM legislation, based on regional standards, through legal, institutional and policy reforms; and to promote the ratification and implementation of the BWM Convention in the region.
This workshop will also see the creation of a Regional Ballast Water Management Task Force with the presence of all countries. This should lead to the development of a Ballast Water Management Regional Strategy and its Action Plan.
